Education & workforce
EmPowered Schools
Students turn their schools into living laboratories for energy efficiency, leadership, and energy career exploration.
The program
Learn it. Lead it. Save energy.
Since 1996, the Alliance to Save Energy has engaged thousands of schools across the country in meaningful energy education programming. PreK–12 students use hands-on STEM lessons to explore energy topics, then apply what they learn at school and at home

How it works
Real-world learning with practical support.
For teachers
Lead a student team with minimal prep, video lessons, hands-on activities, and support from a local project leader.
For schools
Use your campus as a learning laboratory and identify no-cost ways to reduce energy waste.
For communities
Connect students to energy literacy, family engagement, and potential careers in efficiency and utilities.
