Federal investment
At Hill Day 2026, members pressed for the Weatherization Assistance Program and sustained FY2027 investment. A March 2026 coalition letter urged robust DOE efficiency funding.
ENERGY STAR and standards
ASE has emphasized stable, effective implementation as ENERGY STAR transitions to DOE and responded to proposed changes to the appliance standards process rule.
Building codes
In August 2026 ASE commented on DOE’s methodology for evaluating the affordability and cost effectiveness of building energy codes.
Grid flexibility
The Innovation Policy Committee has convened work on virtual power plants, and ASE has raised efficiency’s role in large-load and data center planning.
