The Washington Post will gather leaders from the energy, defense and technology sectors to discuss and debate innovative solutions for securing the country’s energy resources. This live event will explore threats to national security, including cyber attacks, as well as efforts to mitigate the effects of natural disasters on the energy ecosystem.

  • Tony Clark - Commissioner, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission

Commissioner Tony Clark is serving his first term on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. A Republican, he was sworn in by President Obama on June 15, 2012 and is serving out a five-year term that expires June 30, 2016. Clark formerly served as a member of the North Dakota Public Service Commission, most recently as chairman. In November 2010, Clark was elected by his peers across the nation to serve a one-year term as president of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners. He is a past chairman of the NARUC Telecommunications Committee and was North Dakota’s Labor commissioner, serving in the cabinet of former Gov. Ed Schafer. He is also a former state legislator, representing Fargo in the state House of Representatives.

  • Robert “RJ” Johnston - Chief Executive, Eurasia Group

Robert “RJ” Johnston is chief executive of Eurasia Group, a position he assumed in 2013 after 7 years as founder and leader of the firm’s Global Energy and Natural Resources Strategy Group. His work draws upon his experience and analytical expertise in energy geopolitics, including the North American unconventional energy revolution, resource nationalism, energy infrastructure and industry-civil society relations.
