Energy is mission critical and a significant cost ($9 billion) for the U.S. Air Force. A broad behavior change campaign involving 97 bases around the world resulted in reaching more than 70,000 Airmen 68% of whom took significant actions to reduce their energy usage.  The campaign is part of a broader effort in the Air Force which has reduced energy consumption by more than 20% and saved more than $2 billion in the last two years.

About the Speaker:

Mr. Kayser is a 1998 (BA) and 2000 (MA) graduate of GWU with eighteen years’ experience as a strategic communications planner, spokesperson, media trainer and social marketing expert.  He leads Booz Allen Hamilton’s defense energy strategic communications team supporting clients in all four military services to promote their achievements, educate key stakeholders and persuade service members to be more energy efficient.  These programs have won a range of awards including the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force’s Soaring Eagle Award and the Public Relations Society of America’s prestigious Silver Anvil Award.

Prior to Booz Allen, Mr. Kayser was a spokesperson for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) where he conducted hundreds of on-camera and phone interviews and coached dozens of Senior Executive Service leaders during multiple crises including the 2006 London terror plot and Hurricane Katrina.  His team developed the “3-1-1 for Carry-ons” behavior change campaign.  Mr. Kayser also served as a Press Secretary for Congresswoman Kay Granger (TX-12) and supported multiple political campaigns and other politically-related employers both inside and outside government.

Lunch will be served! You do not need to print a ticket for this event.
