The EE Coalition Call is a monthly strategic convening led by the Alliance to Save Energy that brings together stakeholders from business, nonprofit, and government to align on the latest in energy efficiency policy and innovation.

We’re excited to share that the February EE Coalition call will feature Journey Williams, a respected leader in the smart building and energy efficiency space with more than 25 years of experience spanning engineering, strategic market development, and technology integration.

As Director of Strategic Markets at Smart Building Technologies and founding president of the DMV chapter of the Building Intelligence Group, Journey has helped advance solutions that align operational efficiency with sustainability goals. On the February call, he’ll focus on how to unlock meaningful energy savings without major capital investment—by leveraging data, existing infrastructure, and smarter coordination across building systems.

He’ll walk through real-world examples, including how real-time lighting occupancy data can drive HVAC setpoint adjustments in unoccupied zones—reducing waste while maintaining comfort. A key theme of the discussion will be the importance of early collaboration, right-sizing technology, and avoiding short-sighted value engineering decisions that can undermine long-term efficiency.

EE Coalition calls feature policy briefings on appropriations, tax credits, ENERGY STAR, the IRA, and more; guest speakers from DOE, EPA, utilities, energy companies, and policy leaders; and roundtable discussions where attendees share intelligence and align strategies. These calls also identify action items such as joint letters, comments, and coordinated advocacy.

The EE Coalition Call provides real-time updates, shared insights, and collective action opportunities—serving as both a valuable resource and a recruitment tool for advancing energy efficiency.
