This year, Congress is contemplating a variety of legislative initiatives in spite of a calendar that threatens to be constrained by must-pass legislation and the annual budget debate. What are the consensus areas among the +100 proposals offered for Senate Energy Chairman Lisa Murkowski’s (R-AK) energy bill? What direction might the House Energy & Commerce’s legislation take in the context of the new energy vision laid out by Chairman Upton’s Architecture of Abundance? In addition, Congress awaits EPA’s finalization of the Clean Power Plan for greenhouse gas emissions from power plants this summer.

Join WCEE for a conversation about these topics over breakfast on Monday, July 13th! We will be joined by key Congressional staffers who will offer their insights and opinions on the busy summer and fall that lie ahead.

Speakers:

  • Annie Caputo, Majority Senior Policy Advisor, Senate Environment and Public Works Committee
  • Bettina Poirier, Minority Staff Director and Chief Counsel, Senate Environment and Public Works Committee (Invited)
  • Rick Kessler, Minority Senior Advisor, House Energy and Commerce Committee
  • Tom Hassenboehler, Majority Chief Counsel, House Energy and Power Subcommittee, Energy and Commerce Committee
  • Kellie Donnelly, Majority Deputy Chief Counsel, Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee (Invited)
  • Angela Becker-Dippman, Minority Staff Director, Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee

A buffet breakfast will be served

Cost: $20 (WCEE members); $45 (non-WCEE members)
