WASHINGTON – The Alliance to Save Energy on Thursday released the following statement on President Biden’s joint address to Congress last night:

“President Biden got it exactly right in highlighting energy efficiency as a critical climate solution that will create jobs across the country. If we make the right decisions today, we can slash emissions and avoid leaving our children and grandchildren with the unbearable costs of climate change, while creating upwards of a million new jobs – whether it’s construction workers and engineers retrofitting homes and buildings, or factory workers producing heating and cooling equipment, insulation, lighting, and other high-efficiency products.

We look forward to working with President Biden and members of Congress on both sides of the aisle to make this happen through strategic and equitable investments and incentives that will stimulate the kind of economic activity that so many communities need now.”
