Alliance Celebrates House Passage of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022
WASHINGTON – The Alliance to Save Energy released the following statement from President Paula Glover in response to House passage of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (IRA), which includes historic investments in energy efficiency.
“Today’s vote in the House on the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) marks a historic moment. The IRA provides American families, communities and businesses access to the energy resources, tools, and incentives necessary to drive efficiency and create a just and equitable energy transition.”
“The Alliance to Save Energy is ecstatic, following years of advocacy, to see that much needed investments in energy efficiency are part of the bill, including expansion of tax incentives, new energy efficiency rebates, advancement of energy building codes and other key policies that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help achieve energy affordability and reliability.”
“Energy efficiency represents one of the largest and fastest-growing employment sectors in the energy economy and is a critical component of U.S. productivity and energy security. We look forward to President Biden signing the Inflation Reduction Act into law.”
