The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee will hold a business meeting to markup broad, bipartisan energy legislation released last week by Chairman Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, and Ranking Member Cantwell, D-Wash, the Energy Policy Modernization Act of 2015. In addition to Murkowski and Cantwell’s bipartisan energy bill, the markup shortlist includes the nomination of Jonathan Elkind to be an Assistant Secretary of Energy. The longer agenda includes 18 additional legislative proposals. If more time is required for the consideration of amendments or bills, it is possible that the business meeting will be recessed at the call of the chair and reconvened on Wednesday and/or Thursday at 10:00 a.m.

Opening Remarks:

  • Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), Chairman
  • Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.), Ranking Member Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee
