The Union of Concerned Scientists' book, Cooler Smarter: Practical Steps for Low-Carbon Living, shows you the most effective strategies for reducing your global warming emissions in your daily life and helps you to "sweat the right stuff"—make the smartest choices for protecting the climate. Co-author Dr. Brenda Ekwurzel will talk about how you can lower your global warming emissions by 20 percent this year. You'll also have the opportunity to network with other DC-area scientists and engineers, as this event is co-hosted by the DC chapters of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, the National Society of Black Engineers, and the Thursday Network.
