The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) Air Protection Branch will hold a stakeholder meeting on January 7, 2016 to discuss the Clean Energy Incentive Program (CEIP). The CEIP is a component of the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Carbon Pollution Emission Guidelines for Existing Stationary Sources: Electric Utility Generating Units, also called EPA’s Clean Power Plan. EPA has invited comment on the CEIP, which provides incentives for early adoption of selected renewable energy measures and for energy efficiency measures for the low-income population. A state wishing to participate in the Clean Energy Incentive Program (CEIP) must declare its intent to participate by September 2016. The focus of this meeting will be to explore what options the CEIP can offer the State of Georgia. There will be two panels of presenters. One panel will deal with renewable energy (wind and solar) projects and the other panel will speak on low-income energy efficiency programs.
