In this Energy and Environment Breakfast, ICF International welcomes an expert from the Office of Air and Radiation (OAR) to discuss the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) newly released Existing Source Performance Standards (ESPS) regulations.

Key discussion questions include:

§ How will the regulations affect states, regions, companies, and customers?

§ Are the benefits worth the costs?

§ Where are the greatest opportunities?

ESPS regulations require states and utilities to file plans to reduce CO2 emissions from existing power plants by 30 percent by 2030 compared to 2005 emissions. Some states have already moved in this direction and, under ESPS, can achieve these reductions through changes in the generation and fuel mix, cap-and-trade systems, more renewable energy, greater energy efficiency, and so on. In combination with other statutes, such as Mercury and Air Toxics Standards (MATS) and Cross State Air Pollution Rule (CSAPR), this seminal regulation could put the United States on a new emissions
