Laura Van Wie

Laura Van Wie McGrory, Vice President of International Programs, manages a range of international energy efficiency projects and policy studies across all energy use sectors.

From 1999 until September of 2008, Laura was a program manager with the Environmental Energy Technologies Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and managed the Washington, D.C., office of the lab. There she divided her time working with the Energy Efficiency Standards Group in support of the development of U.S. appliance and lighting energy efficiency standards and working with the International Energy Studies Group supporting the lab’s international energy efficiency projects.

Before joining the lab, Laura worked with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change for four years and was a consultant to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Global Change Division, the World Bank and the U.N.’s Development Programme’s Sustainable Energy and Environment Division.

Laura has a bachelor’s degree in geography and environmental studies from Dartmouth College and a master of international affairs — focusing on international environmental policy — from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.
