Overview

This lesson is a web quest that allows students to answer the question, “Is there a green career that you would enjoy having?” 

  • Objectives: Students will create a chart listing green careers of interest to them and the training required for each listed career.  Students will then write a paragraph about one green career that they might enjoy.
  • Subjects: English-Language Arts
  • Suggested Grade Level: 8th grade

      1.4: Plan and conduct multiple-step information searches by using computer networks and modems.
  • Time: 50 minutes

Materials

  • Computer and projector for PowerPoint
  • Students need access to computers with internet

Preparation and Background

Students will need to have experience navigating a website and have some general information about green careers (i.e. definition of green careers).

  • Procedure:  This lesson will be taught as a web quest.  Students will be asked the guiding question and then informed what web site they will be visiting and the tasks that they will be required to complete.
