October 7 summit in Washington DC will focus on how efficiency can keep electricity affordable and reliable as AI, data centers and electrification drive demand
WASHINGTON, D.C. — September 23, 2026 — U.S. electricity demand is climbing faster than it has in decades, and families and businesses are feeling it in their bills. On Wednesday, October 7, the Alliance to Save Energy will convene federal and state regulators, energy executives and technology leaders at the United States Navy Memorial for its 2026 Energy Efficiency Policy Summit.
Confirmed speakers include FERC Commissioner David Rosner; Rory M. Christian, Chair and CEO of the New York Public Service Commission; Judge Jehmal Hudson, Commissioner of the Virginia State Corporation Commission; and executives from PSEG, Con Edison, Opower, Carrier, the New York Power Authority, and many more.
“Energy efficiency has never been more important to America’s energy and economic future,” said Paula Glover, President of the Alliance to Save Energy. “Demand is growing at an extraordinary pace just as families and businesses are worried about costs. This summit is about moving past naming the challenges and getting to practical solutions.”
Discussions will address:
Meeting unprecedented energy demand growth while keeping power affordable and reliable
Using efficiency and demand-side solutions to get more out of existing infrastructure
Policies and investments that speed innovation and deployment
Powering AI, data centers and advanced manufacturing while strengthening U.S. competitiveness
Where bipartisan and public-private collaboration can deliver results
“This isn’t a conversation any one sector can have alone,” Glover added. “If you care about how America meets its next era of energy demand, we want you in the room.”
