Star of Energy Efficiency

Prologis Inc.

Energy, Mobility, & Sustainability

Project Description:

Prologis owns, manages, leases and develops logistics real estate properties around the globe. Our portfolio comprises 1.2 billion square feet of real estate in 19 countries. With 2.8% of the world’s annual GDP passing through Prologis buildings, we take the responsibility to decarbonize our portfolio seriously and are acting with urgency.

In June 2022, we announced our commitment to achieve net-zero emissions across our operations and value chain (Scopes 1, 2 and 3) by 2040. This goal is aligned with the SBTi’s Net-Zero Standard. We leverage our size, scale and expertise to help our customers reduce their carbon footprints. To achieve our goal, we are addressing every aspect of our construction and operations. Through our Prologis Essentials platform, we provide a suite of sustainability solutions beyond those of a traditional warehouse.

ACHIEVEMENTS WE ARE PROUD OF:

1. Updated design standards - Solar-ready rooftops - Passenger EV charger-ready facilities

- Lifecycle Assessments for every new building

2. Sustainable Building Certifications - Nearly 20%, or 235 MSF, of our 1.2 BSF portfolio has received a sustainable certification. This is an area equivalent to more than six NYC Central Parks. - Nearly 30% of the space leased by our 25 largest customers is sustainably certified.

3. Distribution Center Efficiency - By year-end 2022, we had installed LED lighting across 71% of our portfolio. LED lighting reduces lighting-related energy use by 60-80%.

4. Greenhouse gas emissions - In 2022, we reported a year-over-year decrease of Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 53% (64% from our 2019 baseline).

5. Renewable Energy: Solar - In 2022, we surpassed 400 megawatts (MW) of solar generating capacity across our global portfolio and had achieved the #2 spot for onsite solar generation in the U.S., according to the Solar Energy Industries Association. At mid-year 2023, we had reached 450 MW.

6. Electric Vehicles - In 2022, we activated two electric truck charging installations that together can charge 38 Volvo VNR Electric Class 8 battery-electric trucks simultaneously. We currently have 65+ fleet charging sites in our pipeline across U.S. & Europe. We are proud of our achievements but continue to look for new opportunities to innovate and push the envelope.

AMBITIOUS GOAL-SETTING:

1. Warehouse Efficiency - By 2025, our goal is for 100% of our global portfolio to have LED lighting installed. - We will achieve net zero emissions across our operations by 2030 and across our value chain by 2040 from a 2019 baseline.

2. Renewable Energy: Solar - We set the goal to install 1 GW of solar, supported by battery storage, by 2025. This includes 800 MW solar and 200 MW storage.

3. Carbon-Neutral Construction - Our goal is to achieve 100% carbon neutral construction by 2025.

4. Electric Vehicles - We made the commitment that every eligible new development will be electric passenger vehicle ready.
