Alliance Expands Executive Team, Prepares for Advocacy Push

Release Date: Tuesday, March 23, 2021

WASHINGTON—The Alliance to Save Energy on Tuesday announced an expansion of its executive team. Vincent Barnes joins the Alliance as Senior Vice President of Policy and Research and will serve as the organization’s primary policy lead to advance energy efficiency and energy productivity in the United States.

“I am thrilled to have Vincent joining our team at such a critical time,” said Alliance President Paula Glover. “Energy efficiency is the best solution we have to solve the climate crisis and get Americans back to work, and Vincent’s proven advocacy experience will no doubt be an invaluable asset as we build out the organization to prepare for the challenges ahead and work with Congress to prioritize energy efficiency policies this year.”

With more than 20 years of government affairs experience engaging members of Congress, participating in regulatory rulemaking, legislative drafting, and stakeholder engagement, Vincent has executed numerous successful policy campaigns, most recently as senior advisor at Gray Global Advisors. There, he developed and executed policy objectives for the investor owned utility, natural gas, and nuclear industries and helped lead the firm’s energy and power, telecommunications, financial services, and healthcare portfolios. Previously, Vincent served as Senior Federal Legislative Counsel at the American Bankers Association, and Legislative Counsel for Alliance Honorary Board member Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Ill.).

“It is an honor to join the Alliance team and I look forward to working with policymakers and industry as we continue to demonstrate the importance of energy efficiency and advanced energy efficiency technologies in reducing carbon emissions and mitigating climate change. Energy efficiency is one of our most diverse tools in addressing climate change, estimated by some with the potential to reduce carbon emission by 50 percent by 2050 — while also achieving savings for consumers and reducing energy burden, the percentage of monthly household income dedicated to energy costs.”
