Watergy has helped cities and schools in South Africa bring down the cost of providing clean water to their residents. The Alliance also helped conduct climate change vulnerability assessments in the Lake Victoria Basin for small-scale water utilities.
Watergy projects in India, the Philippines, and Sri Lanka have reduced energy used to provide water and wastewater services, while also educating water users about how they can reduce the amount of water consumed on a daily basis.
The Alliance has helped Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica, Guyana, Panama, Suriname (as well as the Bahamas and Jamaica in the Caribbean) realize significant energy, water and monetary savings through technical and managerial changes in water supply systems.
In 2010, we were engaged to perform a Watergy project for the Bucks County Water and Sewer Agency, which yielded savings of 450,000 kWh per year due to our energy assessment and the financial incentives we identified.
