Sam Ricketts is the director of Washington Governor Jay Inslee’s Washington, DC office, where he serves as the governor’s chief liaison with Congress, the federal government, and the National and Western Governors Associations. He assists and advises the governor and state agencies on federal policy as it affects the Evergreen State, and advocates for federal action on the governor’s federal policy priorities.
Previously, from 2009-2012 Sam served as the executive director of the U.S. House Sustainable Energy & Environment Coalition (SEEC) – a caucus formed by then-Congressman Inslee and Congressman Steve Israel to promote clean energy and climate action. During his time with SEEC, in 2011, Sam was honored by the Alliance to Save Energy as an “unsung hero of energy efficiency.”
Sam has worked on numerous campaigns and causes in the states of Washington and New York. He is a Seattle native, and holds bachelor’s degree in political science and history from Syracuse University.
