Doug Abbott

Director, Strategic Initiatives

As the Alliance’s Director of Strategic Initiatives, Doug Abbott oversees the implementation of the Alliance's major initiatives, including the Active Efficiency Collaborative and the Energy 2040 Commission. He coordinates the efforts of the Alliance's internal teams and our key initiative partners. Previously, Doug served as the Alliance’s Director of Education and oversaw the Education team’s program implementation, data reporting, financials, operations, and online learning platform.

Prior to joining the Alliance, Doug worked with dozens of school leadership teams at District of Columbia Public Schools to develop and implement innovative data-based strategic plans. He also served as the Director of Campus Operations at Cesar Chavez Public Charter School and advanced local governments’ sustainability initiatives with the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments.

Doug holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Syracuse University.
