Renee Lafrenz, LEED AP, Alliance to Save Energy's PowerSave Campus Program Project Manager, oversees the California PowerSave Campus Program, including coordination of a state-wide direct implementation team, supervision of 70 paid student interns, program and project development, and communication with program stakeholders which include campus faculty, staff, administrators and funders. She works out of the Alliance’s Oakland, California office.
Ms. Lafrenz holds her Master’s in Environmental Science and Management from UC Santa Barbara’s Donald Bren School and is also a LEED Accredited Professional. Before joining the Alliance in 2007, she interned with the Santa Barbara Air Pollution Control District, the Environmental Defense Center, as well as Defenders of Wildlife, giving her expertise in both the non-profit and governmental sectors with an environmental focus. In her academic career, Ms. Lafrenz was also very involved in student affairs, serving as a Resident Coordinator and Orientation Coordinator, which gives her unique and valuable experience working with higher education institutions and mentoring student leaders.
In her current work with the PowerSave Campus Program, Ms. Lafrenz melds her diverse skills to develop effective energy efficiency projects, empower emerging professionals, and contribute positively to state and nation-wide sustainability goals.
