Pradeep Kumar

Mr. Kumar has more than 14 years of experience in the field of public and private sector energy efficiency (EE), clean energy, sustainable development and CDM programs. His technical expertise includes training, capacity building, techno-economic feasibility studies, project assessment, design and development of performance based contracts projects; investment grade energy audits; preparation of EE bid documents, and evaluation of ESCO proposals and RFPs. His expertise covers EE program in water supply and street lighting systems, buildings, SME cluster, and energy efficiency procurement. He is actively working with government and private sector stakeholders for the implementation of energy conservation building code (ECBC) in India.

He is also one of the foremost experts in measurement and verification (M&V) of energy & cost savings and created replicable financing models for implementation of energy efficiency projects. He has conducted various water energy efficiency and M&V training programs for decision & policy makers, engineers, managers, finance personnel and EE project implementers. He has been instrumental in providing strategic and technical advice to various government and international development agencies in India and developed three statewide municipal energy efficiency programs in India covering more than 200 municipalities’ including water utilities.

He has been working on various international development programs in association with agencies such as; USAID, IRG, REEEP, The World Bank and IFC. He is a Certified M&V Professional (CMVP) by AEE, USA and has published many papers on energy efficiency, M&V and carbon financing. He has developed many energy efficiency manuals, guidelines, road map, M&V plan for ESCO projects, toolkit, tip sheet and best practices guide.

Prior to his current assignment, Mr. Kumar has worked on various renewable energy (solar thermal and photovoltaic) and waste energy management projects. He has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and post graduate in Energy Engineering.
