Kia Ball joined Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance as a Program Manager with the Better Buildings Neighborhood Program (BBNP) in March 2012. In this role, Kia administers the BBNP grant for five sub-grantee cities, including Carrboro, Chapel Hill, Huntsville, Nashville and in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Prior to joining SEEA, Kia worked as a Project Manager with The Trust for Public Land where she helped to acquire land for conservation, recreation, and historic preservation throughout Metro Atlanta. Continuing her interest in sustainable community development and environmental issues, she has also worked for the City of Decatur and Piedmont Park Conservancy, and conducted research on the role of energy efficient renovations in the first phase of the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP). She is also a LEED Accredited Professional. Kia received a Master’s in City & Regional Planning from Georgia Institute of Technology, with a specialization in Land & Community Development. She also holds a B.A. in Political Science from Spelman College and a J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
