Jo Tiffany

Jo Tiffany joined the Alliance in 2004 and is currently Senior Director of Education. Working out of the Alliance’s Oakland, Calif., office, Jo has directed and grown the PowerSave Schools (K-12) and PowerSave Campus (higher education) programs in California. This includes overseeing Alliance California staff and sub-contractors, direction of program implementation and development and building collaborative relationships with program funders, school faculty and administrators, facilities managers and other key stakeholders.

Jo has led the Alliance California education programs to consistently achieve their goals of empowering the next generation of energy efficiency leaders through hands-on learning projects that save energy on school and university campuses, promote energy efficiency in communities, integrate energy efficiency into curricula and open pathways to green careers.

Jo brings more than 30 years experience in education, leadership development and senior-level program management to her current position. She taught high school for 11 years and managed a statewide Leadership Development Institute for the directors and managers of the California Women, Infant and Children’s Association. Shortly before joining the Alliance, Jo was owner and principal of CoreWork Coaching & Consulting where, as a certified professional coach, she provided executive coaching, organizational consultation, facilitation and training for management teams and individual professionals.

Jo holds a bachelor’s degree in English and dramatic arts from the University of California, Berkeley, where she also earned a Lifetime Secondary Teaching Credential.
