Chuck Wilson is on assignment as the Program Director for the Small Town Energy Program for University Park (STEP-UP). STEP-UP is a 3-year program funded through the Department of Energy Better Buildings Neighborhood Program, with the goal of reducing energy use by 20% in 20% of the homes within University Park, Maryland. Chuck’s previous role with the Alliance since 2007 was as Director of Development, where he led the Alliance’s fundraising portfolio of government, foundation and private sector donors worth $9 million.
Chuck previously worked in Brussels with Point Carbon, the world’s premier provider of independent news, analysis and consulting services for European and global power, gas and carbon markets. Chuck has more than 12 years of experience in energy efficiency and global infrastructure programs, including managing a $24 million project in Africa for a Fortune 15 corporation; implementing emission reduction program across 100 municipal facilities and a bus transit fleet; and creating and managing emissions databases.
Chuck worked as an associate for Point Carbon, director of finance and administration for the Infectious Diseases Institute project in Kampala, Uganda, and manager of Climate Change for the city of Ottawa, Canada. He has also worked on several consumer education projects at the management level including the Ottawa Board of Education, Energy Educators of Ontario and Green$aver.
Chuck received a master’s in business administration from Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School in Belgium and an honors bachelor of science in biology from University of Guelph, Canada.
