Abby Schwimmer

Abby Schwimmer joined SEEA as Communications Associate in August of 2012. In this role, she supports sub-grantee cities across the Southeast in developing strategies for marketing energy efficiency retrofit initiatives administered through the Better Buildings Program and State Energy Program.
Abby has more than five years of experience in environmental journalism, communications and outreach, having worked with organizations on the local and national levels to plan and execute their stakeholder engagement strategies. Prior to joining SEEA, she served as Marketing Coordinator at Southface Energy Institute, where she was the primary author of the Southface Journal of Sustainable Building and manager of the organization’s Web and social media presence.

Abby holds a BS in Environmental Management and a dual MPA in Sustainable Development and Nonprofit Management from Indiana University. Outside of the office, she enjoys running, container gardening and vegetarian cooking.
