The Energy Hog campaign is designed to raise awareness of the benefits of saving home energy in a humorous way and give adults the information they need to make smart energy decisions. Humans are never referred to as “Energy Hogs” rather, Energy Hogs are dastardly characters that lurk in homes where energy is being wasted, and the campaign empowers people to rid themselves of Energy Hogs with energy efficiency and conservation. This has been made possible with contributions from our partners: U.S. Department of Energy, The Home Depot, North American Insulation Manufacturers Association, New Jersey Natural Gas, Current Energy Store, and 18 state energy offices.
The Alliance to Save Energy’s Energy Hog Campaign is raising public awareness of the benefits of energy efficiency and conservation. A dastardly spokesvillain - the Energy Hog, empowers youth to bring the message home to adults and inspires families to make home energy improvements to reduce energy bills. The Energy Hog campaign was created by the Ad Council, which produces, distributes, and evaluates public service campaigns.
