The Building Codes Assistance Project (BCAP) is a project of the Alliance to Save Energy, the Natural Resources Defense Council and the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy. BCAP promotes the adoption, implementation, and utilization of energy-efficient building codes and standards in the United States.
Funded primarily by the U.S. Department of Energy, BCAP’s goal is to reduce energy consumption in our nation’s buildings by actively promoting more energy-efficient building codes through advocacy, technical support, and outreach.
BCAP provides on-site assistance to state and local government officials, customizes adoption and implementation strategies to state needs, promotes and coordinates education and technical support for energy code compliance, and provides public testimony upon request by legislators.
