The 2010 California Higher Education Sustainability Conference convened higher education staff, faculty, administrators, and students from across the state from June 21-June 23, 2010 at Los Angeles Trade Technical College. The conference involved over 900 participants and covered a wide diversity of sustainability topics. A highlight of the conference were the student keynote speeches, where a single student representative from the California Community College, University of California, and California State University systems was selected to speak to the gathered attendees about the impact of sustainability on their lives and their communities.
After a thorough selection process that nominated student leaders from across the entire state, two Green Campus interns- James Turner (from West Los Angeles College) and Sarah Schneider (from Humboldt State University)- were selected to represent the California Community Colleges and California State University systems, respectively.
