The Alliance's Monique O'Grady says simply cutting down the amount your driving can save money and gasoline. Plus, driving reductions not only save for you, but cut down emissions, which is good for everyone.

If a typical family shaves just 5% off their current mileage, they could save up to $90 per year at today's gas prices.

Try combining your errands or carpooling to work to cut miles. Other options include using public transit, biking or walking instead of driving your car.
