Crediting Energy Efficiency

The Alliance was a co-presenter on a July 23, 2014 National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO) webinar on using energy efficiency to meet potential requirements under EPA’s draft Clean Power Plan. The proposed rule would, working with the states, regulate carbon dioxide from existing power plants under Section 111(d) of the Clean Air Act. The webinar provided an overview of the proposed rule, options for states to use energy efficiency as a compliance strategy, and potential ways for building energy efficiency to be included in state compliance plans.
