2012 State of the Union Fact Sheet: Making College Affordable

In tandem with his vision of an American economy built on domestic manufacturing and energy, the president emphasized building necessary skills for American workers by addressing rising college costs.

In this blueprint, the president calls on Congress to advance new reforms to promote shared responsibility to make college affordable. If this proposal is passed, federal campus aid will be tied to responsible campus tuition policies for the first time in history.
