National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA)
NEMA is the trade association of choice for the electrical and medical imaging manufacturing industry. Founded in 1926 and headquartered near Washington, D.C., its approximately 430 member companies manufacture products used in the generate on, transmission and distribution, control, and end-use of electricity. NEMA members are leaders in smart grid technologies, energy efficient products and systems, and research into new technologies. Products are used in utility, medical imaging, industrial, commercial, institutional, and residential applications. Domestic production of electrical products sold exceeds $100 billion and involve 400,000 jobs. In addition to its headquarters in Rosslyn, Virginia, NEMA also has offices in Beijing and Mexico City. NEMA is the voice of the electroindustry on legislative and regulatory matters, develops domestic and global standards, and is the authoritative source for business data on the electroindustry.
