The media regularly quote the Alliance's in-house experts and feature the Alliance's accomplishments in energy efficiency. The latest media coverage of the Alliance includes: A Climate Wire story quoting Alliance Senior Vice President of Programs Jeffrey Harris on the “split incentives” for commercial buildings’ landlords and tenants that can hinder energy efficiency was posted on the New York Times website. A story providing highlights from panelists and keynote speakers at the Alliance’s 2011 Policy Summit and emphasizing the bipartisan nature of energy efficiency policies and programs was posted by both Treehugger and the Washington, DC Examiner.   In his keynote address at the 2011 Policy Summit, Sen. Christopher Coons (D-Del.) supported the mission and work of Alliance by stating, “Energy efficiency has enormous potential to change our future — our competitiveness, our environmental footprint, our technology, and the country that our children and grandchildren will inherit from us.” The video of senator’s address can be found in his website. Montgomeryville-Lansdale Patch wrote about Alliance’s Green Schools Program in North Penn High School. As a part of the program, students will be taught on how to measure their school’s energy efficiency using tools using heat and lighting level detectors.

The latest media coverage of the Alliance includes: The White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) featured a blog post by Alliance President Kateri Callahan about honoring Assistant Secretary of the Navy Jackalyne Pfannenstiel with the Alliance’s Chairman’s Award at the 2011 Stars of Energy Efficiency gala. ThinkEco, one of the Alliance’s 2011 Stars of Energy Efficiency award winners, was featured in the Harvard Business School Bulletin. ThinkEco, a company started by Harvard alumnus Mei Shibtata, created the “modlet” – the first smart outlet – that allows users to plug in devices and use their web browsers to manage power consumption and cut down on use of standby power. Alliance President Kateri Callahan was interviewed by NY1's Asa Arons on how drivers can get more value at the gas pump this Fall. Callahan shared simple yet effective fuel efficiency tips that ensure both financial savings and driving safety.

The Alliance Continues to Shed Light on CAFE, Lighting Efficiency Standards, Cold Water Washing and Others

The latest media coverage of the Alliance includes: London-based Energy Efficiency News used a quote on the upcoming Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards by Alliance Senior Vice President for Research and Policy Floyd DesChamps, based on an news release. Green Builder Magazine wrote about the Alliance’s support for the Sensible Accounting to Value Energy (SAVE) Act which calls for a home’s energy efficiency features to be taken into account in mortgage lending activities. In another article in this issue, Energy Efficient Codes Coalition Executive Director Bill Fay discusses how builders are adapting to the stricter energy building codes. The Alliance continues to educate consumers and industry stakeholders about the new lighting efficiency standards. Senior Communications Associate Allyson Schmutter shed some light on the market advantages of lighting products that meet the standards for Architect magazine. The Minnesota-based nonprofit Fresh Energy also included the Alliance’s statistics on the substantial electricity savings that the standards will deliver.  Environmental Leader covered Procter and Gamble's new partnership with the Alliance with a goal to convert 100 million U.S. households from using warm and hot water for laundry to cold water washing by Earth Day 2013.
