The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) will hold public listening sessions in Santa Fe to take questions and comments on the Clean Power Plan recently promulgated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. These meetings are open to any interested member of the public.

The Clean Power Plan is EPA’s new regulation requiring states to limit emissions of greenhouse gases from existing electric power plants. NMED’s public listening sessions will give community members an opportunity to express their views and ask questions about the Clean Power Plan and New Mexico’s potential options for complying with it. NMED staff will present a brief overview of the Clean Power Plan to open the meeting, followed by opportunity for the public to ask questions or give input.
