Launched in 2004, Great Energy Efficiency Day (GEED) has become a “must attend” public discussion on the need for, and benefits of, energy efficiency. Each year the event draws stakeholders from business, industry, government and academia to offer their unique industry perspectives.

GEED will return to Capitol Hill on March 7, and key business and policy leaders will explore the revolution underway in the energy and transportation sectors and the foundational roles  of energy efficiency and public policy as change agents driving this new future.

New technology and behavioral shifts that were seemingly unimaginable yesterday, are transforming the way we live today – from self-driving vehicles to smart buildings to the homes that serve as mini electric power plants -- disruption is the order of the day in 2018. And, the disruption demands creation of new business models and the updating or transformation of public policy to respond to and benefit from these fundamental shifts in our society and economy.

Industry executives will kick GEED off with a look at the key technologies, policies, and stakeholders driving disruption in the automotive and utility sectors, with a focus on opportunities to advance energy efficiency. Two responsive roundtables will follow, diving deeper into the role of federal policy in adopting a systems approach to energy efficiency and addressing the evolving transportation sector.

Directly following GEED, we'll host our Unsung Hero Awards Reception where we'll honor the public servants working hard behind the scenes to advance energy efficiency. Stay tuned for more information and a full agenda.
