The Alliance to Save Energy (the Alliance) and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) are dedicated to delivering effective and accurate messages to U.S. consumers as the country approaches the January 2012 phase-in of energy-efficient lighting.
We find this goal increasingly urgent in view of the many negative messages appearing in the media.
Please join us on October 20 for an informative briefing on efforts planned and underway by a variety of key stakeholders to ensure the successful phase-in of efficient lighting. As per the attached agenda, speakers will provide:
- A congressional perspective on the federally-mandated phase-in of energy-efficient lighting ;
- Information on plans by U.S. government agencies , major retailers and the American Lighting Association to educate consumers about the upcoming EE lighting phase-in;
- Lessons learned by other countries that have been through such a phase-in (EU, Australia) or have one planned (Mexico, Canada).
