Tricia Russell works for Congressman Israel who serves on the House Appropriations Committee. He is an active member of the Subcommittee on Energy and Water as well as the Subcommittee on State and Foreign Operations. Congressman Israel joined this Committee in the 110th Congress and previously served on the Armed Services Committee and Financial Services Committee.
Tricia has worked for Congressman Steve Israel (D-NY) since January of 2006 and is his Senior Legislative Assistant. Tricia handles the Congressman’s work on the Appropriations Energy and Water Subcommittee which range from energy efficiency issues, Smart Grid deployment, clean energy initiatives and Army Corps of Engineers’ projects. In addition to that, Tricia is also responsible for the Congressman Israel’s work on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development. This includes legislation to create a National Infrastructure Bank to provide more consistent funding for roadway, energy, telecommunications and water infrastructure projects.
Tricia handles the Congressman’s legislative efforts for progress and innovation in U.S. energy policy. This includes his role as Co-Chair of the Sustainable Energy and Environment Caucus, which is a coalition of about 50 Members of Congress that work cooperatively to advance policies that promote clean energy technology innovation, domestic manufacturing, development of renewable energy resources, clean energy jobs throughout the product supply-chain and the protection of our nation’s environment. Congressman Israel also serves as an Honorary Vice-Chair of the Alliance to Save Energy.
Prior to her time in Washington, Tricia was active in the 2006 Presidential campaign in her capacity at the Democratic National Convention Committee in Boston and at the Democratic National Committee in Washington, DC.
