Hampton Newsome is an attorney with the Bureau of Consumer Protection at the Federal Trade Commission and has more than a decade of experience with energy-related advertising and consumer labeling issues. His recent activities include the development of new consumer electronics labels, light bulb labels, advertising guidance for carbon offsets and green energy, and labeling for alternative fuels. Before his work at FTC, Mr. Newsome served in the General Counsel's Office at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission where he specialized in environmental law and nuclear materials issues.
