Diane Munns is Executive Director of retail energy services for the Edison Electric Institute (EEI). She assumed that position in February 2007 after serving as a member of the Iowa Utilities Board. She also served as President of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) from March 2005 to November 2006.
In her position as Executive Director of retail energy services for EEI, Diane directs the Institute’s work in a broad range of retail energy services including energy efficiency, member commercial operations, national account customers, retail market structures, state competitive and regulatory policies, and supplier diversity. In recent years, Diane made energy efficiency one of her top regulatory priorities and co-c haired, along with Jim Rogers, Chairman and CEO of Duke Energy, the National Action Plan on Energy Efficiency.
In addition to her many NARUC assignments, Diane also has been active with the Electric Power Research Institute, the Keystone Energy Board, and the National Academies of Science. Diane is a graduate of the University of Iowa and Drake Law School.
