The Alliance to Save Energy and Alliance Associate Knauf Insulation invite you to join us in Indianapolis for a Policy Perspectives breakfast featuring Senator Richard Lugar, the U.S. Senate's most senior Republican and longest serving U.S. Senator in Indiana history.
Senator Lugar’s conviction that energy security impacts every aspect of life, from prices at the gas pump to American vulnerability to foreign terrorism, led him to launch the Lugar Energy Initiative that includes provisions to increase energy efficiency.
On June 9, 2010, Senator Lugar introduced the Practical Energy and Climate Plan Act of 2010, a bill that estimates predict will reduce U.S. energy consumption 11 percent by 2030. At this legislation’s core are a number of energy efficiency provisions targeting reductions across several sectors, including vehicles, buildings, and electric utilities. These provisions help to achieve the bill’s energy and climate goals with minimum impact on the national economy; in fact, many would return money directly to consumers through household energy savings.
The Alliance is honored to continue our outside the beltway Policy Perspectives series with some of the leading voices in climate and energy policy and we hope you will reserve your seat today for this exciting event!
