Policy Perspectives in Louisville, Ky.
featuring
Lieutenant Governor Jerry Abramson

With the help of Lt. Governor Abramson, the State of Kentucky has been creating programs to improve energy efficiency and reduce total energy use. These programs have been recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency for their stalwart efforts that so far have resulted in 70% of Kentucky’s K-12 school districts becoming ENERGY STAR partners, more than 500 energy efficiency home upgrades in the last year, and the creation of new jobs in the state.

Lt. Governor Abramson assumed office as the 55th Lt. Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky in December 2011, after having served as mayor of Louisville for 21 years, the longest-serving mayor in Louisville’s history. His extensive background in public policy and knowledge for creating public-private partnerships has helped Kentucky implement important energy efficient initiatives. He will continue to work with Gov. Beshear on his seven-point strategic energy action plan, Intelligent Energy Choices for Kentucky's Future.
