The New Transparency in Real Estate: Sustainability Metrics, Asset Performance, and Public Disclosure

How are new practices of public disclosure changing the way the marketplace evaluates the environmental and social performance of buildings? Are these practices being used by investors to evaluate asset value? Or do they remain elective practices? What metrics are building owners tracking as “must have” data, as opposed to “nice to have”? Are tenants reporting on the same datasets as owners?

As public disclosure requirements are introduced in both federal and local regulations, what impacts will these have on the financial landscape? Are the practices associated with voluntary disclosure still relevant? What community risks do these practices intend to mitigate? Are they effective?

This forum will convene national and international stakeholders representing private, public and non-profit sectors. The agenda will explore recent data coordination initiatives and assess which areas of the real estate marketplace are rapidly transforming and which are not. The forum will conclude with a focus on emerging trends.
