Invite You to Attend a Lunch Briefing on:
Industrial Efficiency: Economic Development and Energy Savings through State-Federal-Private Collaboration
Thursday, November 17
1:00 p.m.
Room B-369 Rayburn House Office Building
We hope you will join us for a briefing we are organizing – in cooperation with the House Manufacturing Caucus – that will provide a unique angle on industrial efficiency and advanced manufacturing by focusing on collaborative approaches toward technological innovation and economic development that are occurring today through partnerships of states, private companies, universities, and the federal government. The briefing will describe ways in which manufacturing and industrial facilities are becoming more energy efficient, increasing their global competitiveness, and fostering economic development through technologies, such as combined heat and power and waste heat recovery, and through advanced manufacturing and industrial efficiency best practices. We will bring these successes and recommendations for future collaboration to light in several States, and suggest means by which to bring these types of efforts to your Districts and States, if they do not already exist.
Guest speakers will include:
- Larry Boyd, Energy Industries of Ohio
- John Cuttica, Energy Resources Center, University of Illinois, Chicago
- Daniel S. LeFevers, Executive Director, Washington Operations, Gas Technology Institute
- Dick Munson, Senior Vice President, Recycled Energy Development
At a time when attention is focused on facilitating economic recovery and job creation, increasing industrial efficiency and, by extension, global competitiveness, are vital. Industrial efficiency will help not only create jobs and boost manufacturing, but also will help save energy and save money, particularly at a time of tight fiscal conditions for industry, consumers, businesses, and state, local and the federal governments.
Please RSVP so we can get an accurate count for the lunch to Ladeene Freimuth at: ladeene@freimuthgroup.com.
This event is intended to comply as a “widely-attended event.”
