The Alliance to Save Energy is pleased to continue with EE Noon, a regular series of seminars designed to share best practices and information from industry leaders in key areas of energy efficiency.
These seminars, supported by phone conferencing to allow remote users to participate, feature short presentations by leaders in energy efficiency and climate change mitigation followed by Q & A. Bring your lunch to the Alliance, or follow along from your desk, on Oct. 22, 2010, at…noon!
Michael Sachse will discuss how OPOWER's behavior-based customer engagement strategy has helped households across the country lower their energy bills. He'll explain how behavior-based programming can work with current infrastructure, and discuss the implications smart grid investments have on behavior-based residential efficiency.
Kevin Yingling will talk about the Delaware Electric Cooperative (DEC)’s “Beat the Peak” program which is its voluntary demand response program that encourages its members to conserve energy during a peak event. DEC launched Beat the Peak in 2008 as a way to help take control of higher power costs. When DEC determines that a peak situation exists, participating members are notified by e-mail and may see announcements on TV or hear them on the radio. In 2008, members saved more than $2 million by reducing DEC’s demand and energy requirements during the peak monthly periods.
