The ET Summit is the biennial gathering of North American thought leaders in emerging technologies and implementation approaches for the $35+ billion ecosystem of energy efficiency, demand response, customer-facing smart grid, and related programs. Founded in 2004 and organized by the Emerging Technologies Coordinating Council (the California Energy Commission, California energy utilities, and the California Public Utilities Commission), the ET Summit highlights recent developments and best practices to generate and validate new measures and practices for utility and government programs.  This year’s theme is “Leading the Way to an Energy Efficient Future.”

Previous and current ET Summit sponsors, in addition to the organizers, include Bonneville Power Administration, the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, the Electric Power Research Institute, U.S. Department of Energy, the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy, the New Buildings Institute, the Alliance to Save Energy, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

The 2012 ET Summit will take place Monday, October 15 through Wednesday, October 17 at the recently remodeled, LEED® Gold certified Pasadena Convention Center, and is expected to bring together more than 500 technologists, entrepreneurs, utilities, regulators, and investors from around North America and overseas who are actively involved in and/or seeking partners for collaborative projects.

Leading technology, market and policy experts will cover a wide spectrum of forward-looking topics during on-site tours, plenary and round-table talks plus four concurrent session tracks including:

  • The Latest Energy-Efficient Lighting Solutions
  • Advances in Demand Response
  • Next-Generation Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning Systems
  • Regional/National Perspectives and Collaboration
  • Whole Building Efficiency Approaches
