Keep Utility Bills Down
Every video showcases at least one efficiency opportunity and tells you how much you can save by making the changes.
- Select Energy Star rated heating and air conditioning units because as much as half of the energy used in the average home goes to heating and cooling, so the savings add up.
- Use a programmable thermostat to keep your home comfortable, without spending more than you need to.
- Seal your electrical outlets to prevent unwanted air from getting inside your home.
- Use Energy Star qualified appliances to save, since the appliances in your home are responsible for about 10-20% of your energy bills.
- Have adequate insulation and air sealing to save 20% on your energy bills.
- Use energy management tools to keep track of energy usage so you can prevent waste.
- Switch to Energy Star labeled windows to cut heating and cooling costs by as much as 30%.
- Buy an Energy Star rated home, which is 20-30% more energy efficient than standard homes.
