This Earth Day, April 22, the Documentary Channel is launching a new block of programming called EarthView. Airing every Sunday night at 7pm, EarthView documentaries will explore environmental issues such as energy conservation, natural habitats and global warming.
The block includes a number of award-winning documentaries:
- “Kilowatt Ours” – a film that invites viewers to help build a net zero nation, by conserving energy to the greatest extent possible at home, then using clean renewable energy to provide the electricity used.
- “Monumental” – in which director Kelly Duane explores the dramatic and lyrical story of Brower and his colleagues' unrelenting campaigns - fought through lobbying, art, and hard-hitting advertising - to protect and establish some of our most treasured National Parks.
- “Drowned Out” – which chronicles the plight of the people of Jalsindhi in central India who must make a decision fast: Move to the slums in the city, accept a place at a resettlement site or stay at home and drown. In the next few weeks, their village will disappear underwater as the giant Narmada Dam fills.
