Clocking miles and saving kilowatts, the Energy Hog has been stirring up trouble and inspiring energy education in classrooms around the country by helping over 11,000 kids discover the wonders of energy: where it comes from, how to use it, and why it should be saved. Some highlights of the Hog’s travels:
- Brainerd, MN, with Crow Wing Power at an Earth Day event (1,400 students)
- More than 12 schools across Ohio (2,000+ students)
- Bethlehem, Penn, at four elementary schools (320 students)
- Dallas, TX, in six schools with Current Energy and the Mayor (1,000+ students)
- Ste. Genevieve, MS, with Citizen Electric’s “Children’s Safety Day” (1,300 students)
- Benton Harbor, MI, for Whirlpool Corporation’s “Take Your Daughter or Son To Work Day” (450 kids)
- Anadarko, OK, with the Western Farmers Electric Cooperative (400 students)
- Douglas, Evansville, and Casper, WY, at two elementary schools, two libraries, and the Boys & Girls Club (508 students)
- Washington, DC, at Key Elementary School (300 students)
- Winder, GA, at J.E. Richards Middle School (810 students)
- Murrieta and Los Angeles, CA, in four elementary schools (600 students)
- Marshall, MI, at an elementary school (275 students)
- Murrieta, CA, presented by Alliance to Save Energy Green Schools interns (2,480)
