Business Roundtable Energy Plan Highlights Energy Efficiency
Statement from Alliance to Save Energy’s Floyd DesChamps
Washington, D.C., February 26, 2013 – “The Alliance to Save Energy congratulates the Business Roundtable on the release of its report, Taking Action on Energy: A CEO Vision for America’s Energy Future.
“The plan to accelerate business investments and remove barriers to economic growth fully recognizes that energy efficiency is a key component of our nation’s energy strategy.
“The Alliance, an organization established 36 years ago to promote energy efficiency, also shares in the belief that energy efficiency is an essential component of our nation’s energy future. We are pleased to see that the nation’s CEOs fully recognize the importance of energy efficiency in driving the nation’s economy.
“Consistent with the CEOs call for action on energy, the Alliance has issued the Energy 2030 plan which also recognizes that much more can be done to get more out of every unit of energy consumed. Several of BRTs recommendations can go a long way to our goal of doubling U.S. energy productivity by 2030.
“The Alliance looks forward to working with BRT and others to ensure that the nation has the right polices in place to secure the nation’s energy future.”
